At Leagrave, we provide teeth whitening which is a simple and easy way to make your teeth look whiter and have a brighter smile.

How does it work?

At the first appointment, your Dentist will check all the teeth and the gums to make sure that teeth whitening is suitable for you. The Dentist will then take impressions to make custom-made trays. At the next appointment, the trays will be fitted and you will be given four tubes of whitening gel to use.

How long does it take for my teeth to whiten?

The time it takes varies for different people, as everyone’s teeth are unique. Most people’s teeth will take between 2 and 4 weeks to whiten.

Can I expect a big change in the shade of my teeth?

The teeth will lighten by a few shades for every patient, the extent of whitening is difficult to predict.

Do I wear the trays all night?

We have two forms of teeth whitening gel. You can either have the gel which you use at night whilst sleeping (16% carbamide peroxide) or the day gel which you wear for an hour during the daytime (6% hydrogen peroxide). Both the gels work well, we would usually recommend the night whitening gel.

Are my teeth sensitive when they are being whitened?

Soe people do experience sensitivity during the whitening treatment, we usually recommend using a sensitive toothpaste during this time.

How much does whitening cost?

Whitening costs £300 and includes upper and lower custom-made trays and the whitening gels and review appointments.
